Hydrocepahalus

Hydrocepahalus, commonly called "water on the brain" is a medical condition that causes an excessive build-up of cerebrospinal fluid in and around the brain. More common in infants than adults, without treatment the condition results in excessive pressure inside the skull that leads to vision problems, psychiatric difficulties and eventually death. This condition is treated by the use of a "shunt" that permits that excess fluid to be released from the brain cavity.
