Explosive Deafness

Exposure deafness is more popularly known as noise-induced hearing loss (NIHL); this is a kind of hearing impairment caused by exposure to extremely loud sounds. Briefly hearing sounds above 120 decibels result to discomfort and pain; however, long term exposure to sounds above 85 decibels can lead to hearing loss. The intense sound energy may damage the middle and/or inner structures of the ears which leads to deafness.
