Dolman Method

The Dolman method, also known as the "hole in the card" test is used to assess eye dominance. This test is performed by taking a small square of cardboard and putting a small hole in the center. This cardboard square is then held in front of the face with both hands. Then, using both eyes, the individual is asked to focus on a distant object. Finally, alternately using one eye at a time, the test taker tries to see the same distant item. If the distant item can be seen without shifting the card, the dominant eye is used.
