Unstable Attribution

Stable or unstable attribution refers to whether or not an event or characteristic remains stable over time. Specifically, unstable attribution refers to an event or attribution that changes over time. For instance, "effort" can be considered an unstable attribute because a person's amount of effort can change with the task involved for a variety of reasons (time, desire, advantages, etc) while "ability" can be considered a stable attribute in that its presence remains stable over time.
