Secure Self-Esteem

Secure self-esteem describes individuals whose self-esteem is less affected by external factors and evaluations than individuals with defensive self-esteem. A person with secure self-esteem doesn't need the approval or feedback of others. The individual will be less concerned about the opinions of those around them and rely less on the external environment to be influential to their self-esteem and confidence levels. Contrary to this are people with defensive self-esteem rely on the external factors and evaluations from other people to influence their self-esteem levels.
