Phencyclidine (PCP)

Phencyclidine (PCP) is a drug originally developed as a pain reliever but is now most associated with illegal recreational use. Also known as angel dust, PCP has a sedative effect which causes a sense of detachment from surroundings, sluggishness, and dulled senses. It can also cause hallucinations, erratic behavior, and memory loss. At high levels users can exhibit symptoms similar to schizophrenia-like delusions and paranoia. It is an addictive drug and can have serious and even deadly consequences with use.
