Ostrich Effect

The Ostrich Effect is a colloquial term for the mistaken belief that your problem will go away if you just ignore them. Used in business and in daily life, this term is taken from the old-fashioned belief that ostriches bury their heads in the sand when they see danger coming. Unfortunately, just like this phrase, many people try to ignore problems rather than confronting them and taking action to improve their situations. Not surprisingly, this is not an effective technique for solving problems.
