Orthorexia Nervosa

Orthorexia nervosa is a recent development in the field of eating disorders. It is not yet recognized in the DSM-5 but is gaining a lot of notice/Taken from the Greek "orthorexia" literally means “correct diet." It is having a pathological obsession with eating a healthy diet. On the surface this does not seem like a serious matter but, when taken to extremes, such as cutting out whole food groups from the diet, obsessing over the use of healthy ingredients, stressing over the difficulty finding "healthy" foods, worrying about the safety and health of other people's eating habits it can become an obsession that takes over a person's entire life.
