Muhammed Ibn Zakariya Al-Razi

Muhammed ibn Zakariya al-Razi (854–925) was a Persian scholar from the city of Ray/Rey -- hence the suffix al-Razi is attached to his name. Also known to western scholars as Rhazes, he was a famed polymath and physician who was an early promoter of experimental medicine. He was the author of more than 200 manuscripts in many different fields and and is remembered for numerous advances in medicine through his observations and discoveries.
