Medea Complex

Medea complex is characterized by a mother’s desire to kill her children to express her vengeance against the father. This term is based on the Greek mythological figure, Medea who killed her own helpless children, fathered by Jason. She did this when Jason betrayed her and left her for a younger woman. This behavior is also known as filicide, a parent’s intentional killing of his or her own children.
