Mainstreaming

Mainstreaming is a term used in education to refer to the process of placing students with special needs in regular classroom settings during appropriate periods. Mainstreamed students usually bring supports such as a special chair, a one-to-one aid, and assistive technology devices. For instance, a child with Down’sSyndrome might join the regular education classroom during art, music, physical education, and English classes.
