Magic Mushrooms

"Magic mushrooms” is a street term for any of the family of Psilocybin mushrooms which are hallucinogenic. These types of mushrooms are used in traditional religious ceremonies throughout the world, particularly in the Americas, and since the 1960s have been used as a recreational drug. Different countries have widely varying laws regarding these psychedelic mushrooms but in the U.S., it is legally considered a schedule 1 restricted substance which means that it has no presently accepted medical significance and it has a high likelihood for abuse.

The effects include having an introspective experience, hallucinations, nausea, drowsiness, nervousness, paranoia, euphoria, muscle weakness, headaches, pupil dilation, increased heart rate and temperature, and psychosis. Magic mushrooms are also termed as philosopher’s stones, mushies, shrooms, blue meanies, golden tops, liberty caps, agaric, and amani.
