Macroglossia

Macroglossia is having an abnormally large tongue. This rare condition may lead to speaking, eating, and sleeping problems. The causes include genetics, too much growth hormone, Down’s syndrome, hypothyroidism, diabetes, Beckwith-Wiedemann Syndrome (hyperlink) and other congenital conditions. Some patients undergo surgery to reduce their tongues’ sizes.
