Loudness

Loudness is a measurement of sound. It essentially means how strong or intense an auditory noise is to an individual. Loudness is a subjective measure- it differs between individuals. The noise level will seem too loud for some while too low for others. Due to its subjectivity, loudness cannot be measured in a qualitative way the way that decibels can be measured. A noise at a certain decibel level will have varying ratings of loudness between individuals. For example, the level at which you listen to music comfortably might be much too loud for a young child.
