International Classification Of Diseases (ICD)

The International Classification of Diseases (ICD) is used in diagnosing health conditions. It features descriptions of known diseases and injuries with their respective alphanumeric codes.

For instance, the classification of “HIV disease resulting in multiple infections” is B20.7. Aside from diseases’ categories, this tool also contains their external causes, mortality data, and morbidity data. Specifically, it includes signs, symptoms, health status factors, and other diagnostic characteristics. Its most updated revision, the 11th, was presented at the 72nd World Health Assembly on May 25 2019.
