Glucagon

Glucagon is a peptide hormone that is produced by the pancreas to control the body's glucose levels. Glucagon works by transforming sugar that is stored in the liver in the form of glycogen into glucose. If the body fails to keep blood sugar in balance through this process can lead to the conditions of diabetes (caused by high blood sugar) and hypoglycemia (caused by low blood sugar) both of which can cause severe medical problems that can lead to death.
