Genealogy

Genealogy came from the Greek word “genealogia” which means “the making of a pedigree” or “to trace ancestry”. It is the study of families and their lineages and history. Genealogists utilize historical records, interviews, and genetic analysis in conducting research. They also compile lists of ancestors which are systematically illustrated through family trees. Genealogies are important in tracing medical conditions, relationships, land ownership, medical conditions, community history, and historical studies.
