Gamma Brain Waves

Gamma brain waves are 25 to 100 Hz of brain activity frequency patterns. Their emergence remains a mystery as their frequency is above that of neuronal firing. A measurement of 40 Hz is usual among humans. Such waves are the fastest brainwaves and were only discovered with the help of digital electroencephalography (EEG).

They have been associated with high levels of spiritual concentrations such as when meditating, speaking in tongues, or having a powerful spiritual encounter. Scientists have also discovered that gamma is activated during states of higher virtues such as compassion. Gamma brain waves should be differentiated from gamma rays which are the most energetic waves such as those produced by lightning or nuclear explosions.
