Familiar Size

Familiar size is a visual cue used to judge an object's distance. It is a monocular cue which means it can provide information about depth peception even by using only one eye. By knowing an object's size a person can discern depth perception and how far away an object is. For example, by knowing how big a basketball is you can judge how far away it is depending on how large it is in your perception.
