Epilepsy

Usually associated with seizures, epilepsy is a disorder that affects the central nervous system — specifically the brain. Epilepsy causes abnormal brain activity that can result in temporary symptoms such as loss of awareness or loss of consciousness. Though flashing lights (photosensitive epilepsy) can cause seizures in some individuals, it is estimated that half of all epileptic individuals are unsure of what triggers their symptoms.
