Ellen Berscheid

Ellen Berscheid is a social psychologist whose primary focus is on relationships. Berscheid and Elaine Hatfield proposed that love occurs due to physiological arousal and individuals applying the label of 'love' to that arousal. She was also involved in research on how external (or situational) factors influence internal factors (like feelings and satisfaction) in interpersonal relationships.
