Dispositional Factors (also Known As Internal Factors)

Dispositional Factors (also known as Internal Factors) are individual characteristics that influence behavior and actions in a person. Things like individual personality traits, temperament, and genetics are all dispositional factors. They are things that come from within an individual that they do not have much control over. The opposite of dispositional factors are situational factors which are influences like the environment and others around you. People tend to cite dispositional factors as the reason for success ("I passed the test because I am smart", "I worked hard for that grade") where people tend to blame failure on situational factors ("The test wasn't fair", "The teacher doesn't like me").
