Dichromatic means two colors, and can refer to a type of color blindness in which someone can only perceive two primary colors (and combinations of those colors) rather than the usual three (red, green, and blue). For example, some people are born with a reduced sensitivity to red light and thus are unable to see much difference between blue and purple. Many animals, such as dogs, are dichromatic.
