Conservator

A conservator is someone who has been appointed as a guardian or protector for a person who is unable (due to age or infirmity) unable to manage their own affairs. Conservators are sometimes designated by a court of law to safeguard people who are unable to manage their own lives due to a cognitive or physical condition.

For example, the spouse or parent of a coma patient may be designated as a conservator to handle their business affairs while they are in that condition. Additionally, conservator can be a person who has been appointed to oversee the welfare and maintenance of a building, art collection, museum, library, etc.
