Coefficient Of Determination

In statistics, the coefficient of determination is used in the building of statistical models whose primary purpose to is to predict future outcomes. It is also used for testing hypotheses on the basis of other information. The coefficient of determination is used to provide a measure of how well-observed outcomes are being replicated by the model. This would be based on the proportion of total variation of outcomes that are explained by the model.
