Clinical Trial

A clinical trial is an experiment performed on human volunteers to evaluate the effectiveness of a drug, treatment, or procedure. Before clinical trials are conducted, a strict approval process must occur usually requiring thorough prior research. The research leading up to clinical trials (in drug development called pre-clinical research) must demonstrate safe and favorable results that can translate into similar successes in humans.
