Causality

The term causality is used to describe an existing “cause-and-effect” relationship between two successive events in which the preceding event (the cause) is the origin of the latter (the effect). Therefore, causality refers to a one-way interaction between events, where a phenomenon is determined by another. Causality implies that a cause can be attributed to any given event.
