Biomedical Therapies

Biomedical therapies are physical or medical treatments such as drug therapy, electroconvulsive therapy (electroshock), or surgery (i.e lobotomy) that are used to treat mental or psychological disorders. Modern health treatment contains many examples of drug therapies; antidepressants, mood stabilizers, antipsychotics, etc. As a result of successful drug therapies electroshock and lobotomies are used considerably less often than in the past.
