Bacteremia

Bacteremia, also known as sepsis, septicemia, and blood poisoning, is the result of bacterial growth in the bloodstream. This condition usually starts with an infection in the body, i.e. infected cuts, animal bites, infected teeth or gums, etc. If bacteria enters the blood stream and begins to multiply, it will lead to high fevers and body aches . If not treated promptly, it can be fatal.
