Aphasiology

Aphasiology came from the Greek word “aphatos” which means “speechless” and “logy” for “study of”. Hence, it is the study of language impairment which is generally caused by brain damage. Aside from linguistic aspects, this field also covers psychological and neurological factors. For instance, research in aphasiology specified that a delay and inaccuracy in remembering words is common among individuals with multiple sclerosis.
