Anticonvulsants

Anticonvulsants are a class of medications that are typically used to stop seizures. These drugs stop the physical aspects of a seizure and can also prevent it from spreading through the brain like in epileptic cases. Anticonvulsants have also shown to be effective in the treatment of bipolar disorder and pain that is caused by neuropathic reasons. Examples of anticonvulsants are phenobarbital, carbamazepine, and diazepam.
