Aneurysym

An aneurysym is a weak spot on a blood vessel that results in a bubble-like swelling on the outside of the blood vessel. These swellings can burst (rupture) suddenly resulting in major internal bleeding. Although an aneurysm can occur anywhere in the body, they are most commonly found in the brain or in the aorta. Unfortunately, aneurysms do not show symptoms prior to their rupture and are usually fatal without immediate surgery.
