Analyst

Analyst is a broad term for a person who analyzes and studies information to glean knowledge.

This term can be used for different types of analysts. In psychology analyst is sometimes used to refer to a psychoanalyst which is a person who practices Freudian psychoanalytical therapy. A research analyst in psychology and other sciences is someone who collects and studies data, runs statistical tests, and draws conclusions from the results in order to determine many different facts of scientific thought. An example of this is market or social research. A behavior analyst is a person who studies behaviors in order to help assess and treat behavioral problems. They can help people to curb bad behaviors and assess how the environment contributes to behavioral problems.
