Acute Schizophrenia
This term is no longer used commonly, but used to refer to a disorder characterized primarily by a sudden onset of schizophrenic symptoms such as aberrant behavior and disorientation. More recently schizophrenia has been classified as a chronic disorder which means that it does not come and go sporadically as the term acute schizophrenia implies.
