Accidental Grouping

An accidental grouping, in psychological or sociological terms, is an unplanned and unintended association with some type of group. For instance, a person regularly goes to the same bar in the evening and associates with the same group of regular patrons. This grouping, that occurred without planning, intention, or purpose, could be considered an accidental grouping.
