Acataphasia

Acataphasia is a disorder caused by a lesion to the central nervous system (CNS), which consists of the brain and spinal cord. This condition leaves a person unable to formulate or articulate a statement or to express oneself in an organized manner. This can be caused by high fevers related to disease processes. Currently there is no known treatment to reverse the symptoms. However, the symptoms can often be successfully treated through speech therapy in order to restore the ability to speak clearly.
