Abuse Potential

Abuse potential is the possibility of a substance to be misused or an individual to be maltreated. For instance, the abuse potential of a more available drug such as alcohol is greater as compared to less accessible ones such as injected amphetamines. Also, more defenseless individuals such as children have a higher abuse potential as compared to less vulnerable adults.
