Graduate School Q and A

Q: What's this accreditation thing I keep hearing about and what's all the fuss about it?

A: When a school is accredited it means that it has been reviewed and approved for quality. Schools conduct self-assessments and have peer reviews done to ensure that they are meeting certain criteria for delivering quality graduate education.

Basically it's a way to make sure that schools are delivering sound psychological training as agreed upon by the psychological community. If you'd like to see a list of schools that are accredited, you can go to: http://www.apa.org/ed/accreditation/doctoral.html
