Suprachiasmatic Nucleus

The Suprachiasmatic Nucleus is a small region of the hypothalamus gland that is found in the brain. Although very small (the size of a grain of rice) it interacts with many other areas of the brain and controls the circadian rhythm (the body's reaction to the day and night cycle) through the secretion of several body and brain chemicals such as peptides and neurotransmitters.
