Postconventional Level

Postconventional level is the third and final level of Kohlberg's moral development taxonomy where individuals enter the highest level of morale development. People who have reached this stage of development are concerned with the innate rights of humans and guided by their own ethical principles. An individual in this stage of development may believe it acceptable to steal experimental animals in order to save the animals' lives. They believe it to be the moral thing to do even though they are breaking state and federal laws.
