Mantra

A mantra is a repeated syllable, word or phrase such as “Om”, “Jesus help me”, “this too shall pass”, and “think global, act global” used in meditation, prayer, self-motivation, and in expressing one’s beliefs. It is also believed to be used as a spiritual weapon. “Mantra” is a Sanskrit word which means “a thought behind an action or speech”.

By repeating a meaningful word or phrase, you may go into a desired state of mind which may also impact your wellbeing. A study found out that engaging in mantra for 12 minutes a day for 12 weeks significantly improved cognition, mood, sleep, and overall quality of life. Moreover, some clinicians prescribe mantra meditation to help clients with anger management issues.
