Confusion

Confusion describes a mental state of disorientation and an inability to think clearly. Someone who is confused has difficulty making decisions and trouble with logical thinking. Confusion happens to everyone at some point but it can be caused by many different conditions such as dementia, delirium, alcohol/drugs, fever, brain trauma, infections, lack of sleep, blood sugar and temperature level abnormalities, low oxygen levels, and vitamin deficiencies. It is more common in elderly individuals than in younger people. It is usually temporary but can be permanent in some cases (such as cases of elderly dementia).
