Biomedical Therapy

Biomedical therapy, as associated with psychology and psychiatry, includes methods of treatment of mental illnesses by the use of medication or on occasion, surgery. Medical research has proven than many commonplace mental illnesses are the result of brain abnormalities, i.e. neurotransmitter imbalances or insufficiencies or in some cases tumors or electrical malfunctions. Examples of this are the use of antidepressants, antipsychotics, mood stabilizers, ADHD meds, etc.
